James Ruggia and the Riverview Neighborhood Association present another evening in the Backroom Broadsides reading series, with Deborah Jack and Mike DeCapite.
Deborah Jack is a poet from St.Maarten, she has published two poetry collections, The Rainy Season (1997) and skin (2006). Her poetry has appeared in The Caribbean Writer and Calabash and has recited her work in the Caribbean, United States, South Africa, Indonesia and the Netherlands. Deborah Jack is an Assistant Professor of Art at New Jersey City University.
In 2016, Mike DeCapite co-curated the Sparkle Street Social & Athletic Club series of events at the Howl! Happening gallery. His published work includes the novel Through the Windshield, the chapbooks Sitting Pretty and Creamsicle Blue, and the short-prose collection Radiant Fog.
There will be an open mic portion of the evening as well for all readers (5 min limit per reader).
