The Saint Peter’s University’s Argus Eyes Drama Society will be performing The Drowsy Chaperone, a musical parody with book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar and music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison.
A multiple Tony Award winner, The Drowsy Chaperone features an elderly agoraphobic Broadway fanatic, described only as The Man in Chair. As he listens to the recording, of a fictional 1920 musical, the characters appear in his lonely apartment, and the musical comes to life before his –and our- eyes. The Man in Chair constantly breaks the fourth wall to talk to the audience, saying what is on our mind.
The production is directed by Mason Beggs with choreography by Meagan Woods and music direction from Jonathan Marro.
