Apple Tree House presents: Dempsey v. Carpentier: Jersey City’s Million Dollar Fight

As part of 2018 Apple Tree House lecture series, the Office of Cultural Affairs and the New Jersey Council for the Humanities welcomes Henry Hascup, president and historian of the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame, to present “Dempsey v. Carpentier: Jersey City’s Million Dollar Fight.”

About the presenter: Henry Hascup is the president and historian of the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. Through his work at the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame, he assists boxers facing financial hardship and funeral and burial costs for fighters who have passed. He also serves as the president of New Jersey Diamond Gloves competition for amateur boxers and was the former president New Jersey Association of USA Boxing. Hascup is a ring announcer who has commentated over 1,000 fights in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
