As the organization responsible for facilitating special events across the city, a major component of our work at the Office of Cultural Affairs is the event permit process. We help event organizers navigate this process to ensure the safe and successful use of city property for public events.
We will add community events to be held on private property to our community calendar if they are open to the public. While events to be held on private property do not have to go through the permitting process noted above, we ask that event organizers complete and submit a form to seek approval to be added to our community calendar.
The Mary McLeod Bethune Life Center is located in the Greenville community of Jersey City— it offers residents and visitors an unparalleled experience to engage in cultural arts, fitness, wellness, and educational activities. All city-sponsored classes are open to the public and free. Please note, registration may be required.
Throughout the year, the Office of Cultural Affairs supports city hall events—from flag raisings and ribbon cuttings to press conferences, ground breakings and the Mayor’s Toy Drive.
