Impact report on Arts & Culture in Jersey City

AEP6 revealed that nonprofit arts and culture organizations, along with their audiences, generated $151.7 billion in economic activity. This includes $73.3 billion in spending by the organizations themselves, which in turn generated an additional $78.4 billion in event-related spending by their audiences. The impact of this economic activity is significant, supporting 2.6 million jobs, generating $29.1 billion in tax revenue, and providing $101 billion in personal income to residents.

The findings of AEP6 clearly show that investing in the arts is not only a cultural benefit but also an economic one, fostering both community well-being and economic prosperity.

This was the first time Jersey City’s arts and culture nonprofits participated in the study, which was conducted over a 12-month period from 2022 to 2023.
