Empowering Young Artists, Transforming Communities

A Decade of Impact

For over ten years, Jersey City’s youth mural program has been a driving force in community enrichment and creative growth. As the largest initiative of its kind in the region, it has provided more than 150 young artists, aged 15 to 25, with hands-on public art experience while ensuring fair compensation.

Each year, participants engage in an immersive six-week program, honing skills in concept development, large-scale design enlargement, and advanced spray-painting techniques—all while fostering a deep sense of civic pride. Their work has transformed neighborhoods, with ten murals created across ten different communities. These vibrant artworks have become cultural landmarks, celebrating the power of youth-driven art in shaping Jersey City’s creative identity.
