Home / Programs & Initiatives / Jersey City Mural Arts Program
Established in 2013 and funded by a Clean Communities Grant, the Jersey City Mural Arts Program (JCMAP) is a flagship initiative of the Mayor’s Office dedicated to revitalizing public spaces with murals that reflect the city’s unique character.
By connecting local, national, and international artists with property owners, developers, community groups, and schools, JCMAP fosters collaboration and transforms walls into meaningful works of art.
These murals do more than beautify—they tell Jersey City’s stories, honor its rich diversity, and create spaces that foster civic pride. By transforming blank walls into landmarks, they also serve as catalysts for graffiti prevention, placemaking, and cultural preservation.
Over the years, JCMAP has become a driving force for artistic innovation and community engagement, making Jersey City a vibrant hub for creativity and cultural exchange.
Below you will find just some of the murals featured on the streets of Jersey City. Visit our interactive mural map to find these murals and many more!
